G. B. Memorial Institution was established by Late Samar Mitra, an eminent social worker, with the aim of expanding quality education facilities among all sections of the people living in the vast areas of Behala and Sarsuna in particular.

G. B. Memorial Public School is established by G. B. Memorial Education Society and guided by Mrs. B. Mitra, aims at expanding quality and application based education facilities following the curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education.

The society started as a Nursery and Kindergarten school, G.B. Memorial Institution, way back in 1983 under Mr. B. Mitra. The school earned high reputation as an institution providing all round quality education. Later the school expanded its horizons as a Co-ed English Medium Higher Secondary School affiliated to WBBSE & WBCHSE. The school has given excellent professionals and wonderful human beings to the society during these years as their students.

Now, G. B. Memorial Public School aims to do the same in the future.
